As you know, today's topic is related to the title above. I would share my experience during interview for the course that I've applied in the UPU. This interview is the newest form as I took it for 2017 intake so it would be helpful for those who is applying MC110 or MC111 next year.
So I went to the Faculty of Communication & Media Studies located at Shah Alam because I lived in Puchong so it's quite near as it only took 30 minutes from my house to UiTM Shah Alam. Now, you really need to go there as early as you can as people already started to gather around 7 a.m. I arrived at around 7.40 something so I got to queue almost in the front line. You would be asked to line up according to the first alphabet of your name and since my name starts with 'N', it took a bit longer than the rest. There are 4 counters for registration, don't get confused. Then I checked my name and got my interview number.
As you know there two sessions, first is writing test and second is the real interview. The questions that were asked during writing test are;
- What is masscomm?
- Why did applied for masscomm?
- What you can contribute to masscomm?
The questions for writing test is predictable as you have read a lot of posts regarding to this interview but what makes you nervous is the oral interview. Since it was past 11 a.m, they started to take 4 people at once for the interview to make it quick. Just bring your sijil and those papers that have been verified by the Pengetua or Kakitangan Kumpulan A. Be confident.
So, let me tell you here that all those typical questions such as tell me about yourself, current issues, and such weren't asked during the interview. I was quite shocked. Questions that I were being asked are;
1. Where are you from?
2. Masscomm is your __ choice in the upu?
3. Where did you know about masscomm?
4. Why do you think they held a writing test?
5. Do you think you can get this course?
6. Did your mom work? your dad? As what?
Overall the whole session was just like chit-chat between older people with teenagers. The interviewer was a doctor (i don't know his name) and he was so sempoi. He asked questions in malay and we answered in english but you can also rojak. He wasn't really mind. He also asked us 'alah kita joke around lah sikit-sikit, takkan tak boleh' and we laughed as question number 5 was being asked. It was fun. We literally listened more to story that he told us. And lastly he asked us if there were any questions and I literally got 2 questions to ask.
There was 1 guy and 3 girls in the room. That guy asked 'people refers masscomm as a bad course because the work range isn't that really that good' something like that I think and the doctor said no matter how lousy or bad the course could be, in the end it's up to you to decide it not other people.
It was really a good interview, fun and enjoyable. You won't regret any of those anwers that you answered and please don't. The only important thing you need to have is CONFIDENT. You don't need to memorise all those answers for questions but just answer those questions straightly within knowledges that you have.
p/s: this course was my 3rd choice as I wasn't really that interested in masscomm as generally but I just share my experience for those who wants to apply for this course.
p/s: each interviewer could be differs so I got myself who isnt that really strict so I am quite lucky.
So that was my experience. I hope & really hope it could helpful for you guys.
